Summary
The Accompanist of the West Michigan Voices of Pride (WMVP) will be responsible to accompany the chorus with piano or keyboard. Will assist in the musical aspects of the chorus with the Artistic Director, which includes recruiting musicians.
Concert Date and Rehearsal Days
The next concert of WMVP will be Friday, June 20
Regular Rehearsals are Wednesday evenings from 6:30pm-9pm.

Qualifications
Piano/Accompanist experience in choral setting required
Bachelor’s degree in piano preferred or equivalent
Proven organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills required
Strong leadership, time management, and multitasking abilities
Ability to follow clear instructions
Ability to assist in planning concerts, including creative programming skills
Essential Functions
Provide Piano Accompaniment for Rehearsals and Performances. Be prepared to accompany the chorus in rehearsals and performances under the direction of the Artistic Director by learning each song in advance. If unable to attend a rehearsal or performance, the accompanist will work with the Artistic Director to obtain the replacement.
Provide Assistance in Artistic Vision. Help to envision and demonstrate a musical sound and presentation of the chorus that is enhanced each season. Provide motivation for singers to join and maintain their membership in the chorus. Develop and maintain a working relationship with the chorus Artistic Director.
Concerts and Additional Performances. Work with the Artistic Director to implement two major concerts annually, as well as community events. Develop members’ musical skills through weekly rehearsals.
Assist in Recruiting Guest Musicians as Needed. Work with the Artistic Director to recruit and engage guest musicians when needed to perform with the chorus.
Collaborate with the Board of Directors. Serve on the Board of Directors’ committees as needed. Attend board meetings as requested.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Board of Directors.
